Thermostat: Solid state electronic.

Electrical requirements: Input voltage = 120 VAC/60hz at 7 amps or 230 VAC/50hz at 4 amps.

Alarm system: There are several alarm systems incorporated in unit. See "Heater/Blower Safety Features" for more information.

Safety features: Described in detail in "Heater/Blower Safety Features" section.

Hose description: Standard hose length 2.75" diameter x 60" long.

HEPA Filtration system: > 95% at 0.2 micron

Air delivery system: Hose connected to warming cover. Lower surface of cover has Trocar cuts.

Outline of self diagnostics feature: A built-in self-test and diagnostic feature allows the operator to test the over temperature safety feature by simply pressing a button located on the bottom of the unit. Pressing this button will place the unit in the "TEST MODE" which will disconnect the heater control circuitry and drive the output temperature into the over temperature range. Once output temperature reaches the "Red" area on the bar graph temperature indicator, both "Audible" and "Visual" temperature alarms will be activated. The system will them automatically disconnect power to the heater element, the temperature will return to the selected safe area, and the alarms will shut off.

Patient Warming Devices Heater/Blower Safety Features
UL listed to meet UL544 requirements.
CSA certified.

Safety feature 1... LED bar graph temperature display allows the operator to tell at a glance if the unit is operating in the selected temperature range.

Safety feature 2... The primary temperature control circuit is designed to remove power from the heater element when the temperature sensor exceeds the set point reference.

Safety feature 3... The unit has a secondary safety that will remove power from the heater as follows:
  1. If the unit should reach an over temperature condition.

  2. If the temperature sensor has failed.

Note: If any of the above should occur, the "Caution Light" and/or the "Audible Alarm" will warn the operator of a fault condition.

Safety feature 4...
A third safety circuit will trip the main circuit breaker, removing all power to the blower, if the above safety circuits should fail to operate.
